A fundamental distinguishing attribute of a NISMO versions is enhanced output through the 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbo. The normal Juke builds 188 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque, result ample to pull the 2011 Juke SL we tried to 60 mph in 7.5 secs and through a quarter-mile in 15.7 at 91 mph. Such certainly aren’t face-distorting numbers, nevertheless the car’s speed had been boosted through exciting dynamics which we identified, precisely, while “fun.” So when you’d desire, which characterization gets a capital F in the RS.
A output of the NISMO 1.6-liter varies from NISMO up to NISMO RS, as well as in the fact of the RS, according to if the Juke is providing front- or all-wheel drive. On the Juke NISMO, each front- and all-wheel-drive types will be graded on 197 horses and 184 lb-ft. NISMO RS models with AWD pack 211 horsepower and 184 lb-ft, while the front-drive RS steams along with 215 ponies plus 210 lb-ft of distort.
For the RS, a restricting element is transmission selection. Deciding on AWD restricts the user to the Xtronic continuously adjustable automatic, that has torque-capacity limitations. Front-drive types come entirely with a six-speed manual which could handle additional strength. The manual gearbox in our NISMO RS test car experienced a tickly 1-2 adjust, but once past that, it turned out exceptionally crisp and accurate, permitting us to rapidly snick through the gears.
Pulling additional strength to the RS requires utilizing a freer-flowing exhaust mechanism, adjustments for the Eu, along with heftier connecting rods. The NISMO techs have additionally revised a RS manual transmission’s inside gearing and selected a rather shorter final-drive proportion. What all of this leads to is zero-to-60 on 6.7 seconds and also the quarter-mile in 15.2 at 95, using a top speed for 135 mph - not bad for a vehicle with the streamlined shape of a croaker.
Greater output generally implies lessen mpg. Nevertheless that’s not the case at this point. Provided with a six-speed manual transmission, the fundamental Juke, Juke NISMO, and also Juke NISMO RS all acquire 25 - mpg city along with thirty one - mpg freeway Environmental protection agency ratings. We averaged twenty two miles per gallon within passionate driving.
